sonnet for an unsung baritone

your voice passing through is a rarity
like the jewelled flow of wisdom you speak
you whisper, declaim for their clarity
a rush so bold in my thoughts make me weak
you speak a song unsung strumming other’s strings
of hearts, of souls, of tales of your approach
a legend denied, a legend hiding
in mists meticulous of our encroach
what shall i do to hear your baritone
to speak the spells i learned through your craving
what shall i do to break your mist alone
and listen to the tales of your being
your voice from me is but an eminence
your distance an echo sung with silence
