Tankas Under a Starlit Sky

February sweeps through
The dry cold concrete rooftops
Crickets chirping close
The sleeping ricefields below
Blanketed by the moon’s touch

The radio tower’s
Orange star blooms bright above
The stars all fallen
And living, burning brightly
Through electric chains

The wisps of clouds flow
Through the blue sky like sea waves
Crashing endlessly
In boundless shores far beyond
The deep horizon

The stars scatter
Like fireflies under a tree
An acacia old
And gentle like grandpa
Glowing memories out close

Yes, these were written under a starlit sky.
